What are the rules? The rules can be found on the rules page. The commissioner determines the rules. If you need clarification of any of the rules, contact the pool commissioner. What browsers are compatible with the website? Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox 2+, Opera 8+, Safari 2+. Support for other browsers is possible but not verified. The "Export" to Excel function does not work in IE5.5 or IE6. Javascript must be enabled on your browser for many pages of the website including the pages needed to make picks.
Can I view the website on my mobile phone? Viewing the website requires a fully functioning browser which includes certain smartphones. If the website does not work on your mobile browser, you can make picks by accessing the mobile picksheet. The mobile picksheet can be found at http://m.demo.survivor.sportsfan.com
How do I change my Login ID or password?
The login ID that is used for logging in to the website cannot be changed. This is required to maintain consistency as the game progresses. To change your login password, you must first be logged in to the website. Then, click "Member Profile" in the top-right corner of the website and enter a new password. Then, click the "Save" button.
What is the "Stay Logged In" box?
The "Stay Logged In" box appears next to the Login ID and password spaces at the top of the website. If the "Stay Logged In" box is checked when you login, you will remain logged in to the website on that computer until you click the "Logout" button. This is a security risk, so only check the "Stay Logged In" box when you are the only person with access to your computer. In particular, never check the "Stay Logged In" button when logging in from a public computer. The "Stay Logged In" button must be enabled in your member profile in order for it to work. Also, your browser must be set to allow "cookies" in order for the "Stay Logged In" feature to work.
How do I add an entry? When you signed up, your first entry was automatically added to the pool. To add additional entries, click the "Add Entry" (or similar) link in the menu and follow the instructions. Entries can be added until the deadline for the first week passes. Check the "Rules" page for information on the deadline.
How do I make or change my pick(s)? First, make sure you are logged in. On the pool home page, locate the list of your entries near the top of the page. Alternatively, use the "My Entries" link in the Reports menu (if available) to see the list of your entries. Then, click the Pick link (or the Change link if you have already made a pick) to open the picksheet. Find the team(s) that you want to pick and then click the Save button. Be sure to always click the Save button to save your pick. Important Note Depending on the pick deadline, you may not be able to edit your pick in which case the Pick link will not be present (see the Rules page for deadline information).
How do I delete my entry? Entries can be deleted until the deadline for the first week passes according to the rules (or your pick for the first week locks, whichever comes first). When you delete an entry, you are permanently removing it from the pool. To delete an entry, first make sure you are logged in. Then, on the home page you will find a list of your entries. Click the "options" link below the entry name and select "Delete Entry". If there is no "Delete" option, then the deadline to delete the entry has passed.
Can I make picks for upcoming weeks? Yes. On the pool home page, click the options link below your entry and select Picks for future weeks. You will then be able to make picks for upcoming weeks. Please read the instructions on the future picks page for important information about making picks for upcoming weeks.
For multiple entries. Should I signup more than once? No. You do not need to sign up more than once if you want to have more than one entry in the pool. Click the "Add Entry" (or similar) link in the menu to add more entries. If the "Add Entry" (or similar) link is not present, then the deadline for new entries has passed.
I am unable to make picks. The picksheet does not load. The website picksheet Popup picksheet mode is not compatible with all browsers. If necessary, please upgrade your browser to the newest version or use a different computer. If you are unable to do so, switch the pick mode to one of the other options such as Picksheet for older browsers or Pulldown list of teams. Look for the pick mode setting at the bottom of the list of your entries. Can I get an email reminder to make my pick each week? Yes. After logging into the website you will see your entries listed on the home page. Click the Options link below your entry(s) and select Email Alerts. You will be able to choose the day(s) that you want the reminder sent. Can I share an entry with someone else so they can also make picks? Yes. You can allow one or more other members to make picks on one or more of your entries. When you share an entry, the person you are sharing with can make picks but cannot lock or unlock the pick. To share an entry with someone else, you first need to have them tell you their "sharing ID" which can be found on the "Member Profile" page (click the link at the top-right of the website). Then go to the website home page and click the options link next to the entry that you want to share. Select Share this entry. Check the box labeled Enable sharing for this entry. Type the member's sharing ID where indicated. Finally click the "Save" button.
How do I change my member profile (name, address, email, etc.)? To change your member profile, you must first be logged in to the pool website. Click "Member Profile" in the top-right corner or bottom of the website. After making changes to your profile, click the "Save" button. Some information can only be modified by the commissioner.
I am unable to print Printing some pages requires that you enable "pop up windows" in your browser. Check your browser's help or settings for information on how to enable pop-up windows from the website.
How do I contact the commissioner? See the contact page for information.
How can I get technical support? One option is to contact the pool commissioner for assistance. You can also click the "Report Problem" link at the bottom of the page to get help from SportsFan.com.
Who can I contact about advertising on the website? Any advertisements displayed on private pool websites have been placed there by the commissioner so please contact the commissioner for more information. |
